Other Info | This series explores the fundamentals of jazz singing in a safe and fun setting, with a final public performance of a “set” of 3-4 songs per student while accompanied by a jazz trio. Class meets four times. Great motivational class for singers who want to “go the distance” from choosing songs to performing them onstage. Class is limited to 5 students on a first come, first serve basis, and is open to all levels, ages teen through adult. Registration cost is $210 (includes 4 three hour-long classes with two instructors, piano accompaniment, all handout materials, and performance/recital fees). *NEXT CLASS SERIES: 4 Sundays: Jan. 9th and 26th, Feb. 6th and 20th. Other Info | Run by a small dance committee committed to promoting and sustaining folk music and dance for children and families. The dance is sponsored by the Seattle Folklore Society, www.seafolklore.org, and the Phinney Neighborhood Association, www.phinneycenter.org. WHO enjoys our dances? Family dances are appropriate for families with children ages 10 and under BUT younger children can be held & older children who enjoy dancing still enjoy the dance. We occasionally organize family-friendly community dances a but which require a higher level of skill and focus. WHEN? For the 2010-2011 season our dance run on THIRD Sundays starting on October 19th and continuing until January; in February we'll switch to FOURTH Sundays through May. |
