Other Info | This is an intergenerational concert of authentic WW2 songs and stories. Appropriate for ages 10 and older, the hour long program is a journey through time, and includes 2 musicians (vocals and piano) singing popular WW2 songs, and one storyteller who is an 87 year old WW2 Veteran. All performers wear vintage military uniforms, reminiscent of a USO show. The storyteller/Veteran, Ray Puddicomb, speaks throughout the program, sharing his riveting wartime experiences. Before, during and after the program, he displays his extensive memorabilia collection, including: dog tags, military uniforms, photos, letters, train schedules/tickets, a Nazi flag, armband and helmet, and other items of interest. Mr. Puddicomb is a Seattle resident who served as an American soldier on the German Front Line during the Rhineland Campaign of 1944. Topics covered will include anecdotes about the draft, soldier life, films, radio, railroads and returning home to the Northwest, and of course, music of the WW 2 era. |
